We will no longer be accepting prescription requests over the telephone.
This is to help avoid any potentially harmful errors that may occur when copying or typing requests manually over the telephone. Although the Care Navigation Team are trained to help with your request, they are not clinically trained to recognise medication and its uses. This presents a risk of mishearing your request and not recording your request correctly, unnecessarily delaying the processing of your medication.
This practice is set up for the electronic prescription service. We advise that you speak to us to set you up on Online Services, SystmOnline, to help you communicate with us without calling, saving you time and increasing the accuracies of your requests.
This means that for most patients we can send your prescription directly to your chosen chemist, without you having to come down to the surgery to collect the physical slip.
To get your prescription sent to your chosen pharmacy you will have to ask reception to set your "Nominated Pharmacy" when you next visit or speak with us.
